Greetings from the Principal's Desk

Happy to meet you as a member of Our Lady School of Excellence. Yeah, this is your Abode of education. Just in the outskirts, I would like to tell you one important thing. Asking our children to memorize facts in schools is like asking them to re-create the past. Yet, if we invite a child to explore concepts and ideas – such as fairness, tolerance, honesty – we then invite them to create a new future, for their ideas might be different from ours. A person’s fundamental sacred beliefs determine their daily behaviors. Our beliefs set our daily behaviors. We will soon learn to teach our children that all actions are spiritual experiences. Thus, the student will learn to use spiritual tools to solve life’s problems and challenges. Most challenges have little to do with geometry, geography, biology, or history. Most challenges have a lot to do with fairness, tolerance, equality, and honesty. Punishment should be removed from the educational system. Punishing a child does not teach them to ‘be better,’ but that violence is the way that people in control deal with problems. There is no Right or Wrong, but rather: What Works and What Does Not Work. Punishment halts behaviors, yet it does not alter behaviors. Thus, behaviors will show up again in some way in the future. Ours is Creation Education – showing children Who They Are; opening them to the Creator Within, allowing them to believe that they are the Source of their experiences and the Authority over their own lives. Bringing them back to their own Inner Wisdom. Allowing them to practice their Inner Truth. Awakening them to their mind, and opening their mind instead of imprisoning their mind. Connecting the mind to the soul. Connecting the body to the mind, and experiencing all three as One.

We teach. We learn. We live. It's we... together.

Join us in the celebration of education.

Love and blessings,
Sr. Dr. Peter Selvarani.
